What do you do?

Review your page Title tag to make sure the first 2 or 3 words are keywords, then your business name and location.  Title description should be between 60 to 65 characters (counting spaces) in length, remove words like "Welcome" and "Homepage".  The Title tag is what is displayed on the Search Engine Results page, make it count.

Make sure you have a Meta Description Tag, content should contain sentences describing your business and what you provide in 150 to 160 characters.  The content of the Meta Description tag is displayed below the Title and should help the user decide if your site is worth visiting.  Meta Keyword tag is not used by any of the major search engines.

Review the text on the Homepage and all pages for keywords and relative text.  If possible the homepage should contain between 300 to 500 words and Do Not repeat keywords more then 7 times.

Search the Internet for other sites that relate to your business.  See if you can get your website added with a link to your site.  Directories and suppliers are the best relative site links you want linking to your website.  Don't fall in the trap of having your website on 1,000's of un-related search engines for $39.95 or being added to Link Farms.
